Dj Nero meets Streets

The dubstep champion Dj Nero, known for his remix of Deadmau5's hit "Ghosts N Stuff", is back to show us his brilliance in remixing The Streets' "In The Middle". This song is, dope.

Cali-4-Knee-Uh Dreamz

The first two songs are perfect summer jams to kick back and relax too. The first, California Dreaming is a cover of The Mamas and The Papas song with a nice beat and some extra EQ. love it. The second is Hip Hop, with some of my favorite rappers, namely Mistah FAB and Crooked I. The song has one of the best beats i've heard recently, with equally dope flow.

California Dreaming (Mamas and The Papas Cover)--Neu
Look at California--Reality (Ft. Bishop Lamont, Mistah F.A.B., & Crooked I)

Here we have a mashup that has been out for some good time, but I didn't give it enough credit on the first go round. Most definitely one of the best mashes of 2010.

The Fly Scientist--Drake vs. Coldplay (Ft. Page & Silver Medallion)
Lastly, some craziness. Electro wild. You know that point in the party (around 2,3, or 4 am) when everyone is drunk enough that theyre just craving some crunchy electric craziness? Thats what I'm going to call this, some Crunchy electric that just sets people off; the kind of stuff that has people jumping up on tables and ripping off their shirts, when getting ass isn't a factor anymore, all you want to do is stomp all night without blinking. Well this is that.

Stray Bullet--The Killabits

MAN ON THE MOON II THE LEGEND OF MR. RAGER.

Save the date: Kid Cudi's new album is set to come out on September 14, 2010. I'll be happy if it's anything like Man on the Moon because I don't think i've listened to an album more this past year. His first single from it dropped this morning entitled RevoFev...It's not bad. See what you think:

Mashup Tuesday?

Well maybe this isn't a weekly things, but I came across two new mashups I'd never heard before.

The first is my favorite since Wu Tang is up there with my favorite hip hop group/artists of all time. To name a few: Method on the mike, Ghostface killer "now you see me now you don't", and the Ol' Dirty Bastard cause he aint a father to his kids (he's dead). The Beatles are alright too. Anyway, enough blabbering check it out:
Uh Huh - Wu Tang vs Beatles

The second combines DMX's Gon Give It Ya with the XX's Intro. Upper dece wit it.

Start the week off right...

Combining the talent of Mike Posner and Hoodie Allen in this remake of the old classic is truly explosive. Allen absolutely kills his opening verse. Check this out:
Evil Women Ft ELO - Hoodie Allen and Mike Posner

A dope 2-song mashup using The Who's Baba O'Riley and Kanye West, this song - and artist - are grossly unknown and underplayed. We'll definitely be following this guy closer in the future:
Work O' Plan - John the Evangelist

I don't know what makes this song so hot. I heard it for the first time a few days back and can't get the chorus out of my head. Maybe it's the sexy female voice? Maybe it's the simple, catchy beat? Definitely out of my league..
True Affection - The Blow

Ahh back to some straight Hip/Hop. No autotune, no unnatural rhythms, just some dope MCs working their lyrical magic over simple beats. Refreshing

It's [not any] bigger than hip hop, hip hop

It's the end of a busy weekend, but here's an extra juicy post to make up for the lack of new beats.

Theo London continues to blow my mind. Unlike almost all other rappers, a lot of his songs allow a long intro of the beat/background before he begins to spit. I think it reflects his uncanny appreciation for all kinds of music, supplemented by his ability to do what he does best, rhyme. Anyway, this is a classic off of his 09 mixtape, This Charming Mixtape. The perfect song for a rainy day in NYC, delivered by a rapper, from NYC.

This is a solid tune, produced by 1500 or nothing. I recommend checking out 1500's site. Honestly, they excite me more than Asher, even though I like his new stuff thats coming out recently a lot more than his older stuff. Whatever the case, check out GRIND, and you will most likely be happy.

With a new album from Outkast expected soon, Big Boi has been producing some solo work to tease the hip hop community with a snippet of what to expect. This is a music video of his song Shutterbug. Looks pretty futuristic, maybe Outkast will be following in the footsteps of the Black Eyed Peas with their new album.

It turns out, however, that I like this song from Big Boi more than the acclaimed one above. Summoning elements of choir/gospel music, heavy horns, electric guitar, and a little more OG salt, General Patton goes real hard. It really gets the blood flowing, I might suggest it before an important interview.

Gotta love some Cool Kids. Simple, elegant, head bobbin beat. Impeccably smooth flow on the rhymes. Summer windows-down driving music.

Flying Kites--The Cool Kids
The best for last? Maybe. An older Hoodie Allen to start off with Don't Look Down off his mixtape, Making Waves. BUT the real gem is the second song. With a taste of some Dubstep wampity wamp, electronic vocal mastery, and all around great rapping, this song is going to be playing around me for a while. Needless to say, everyone should have a woody for hoodie.

This is pretty lights live at terminal 5 in new york. The concert last night was RJD2, Chiddy Bang and then Pretty Lights. I filmed these on a shitty iphone so I apologize for the terrible quality. But proof that I was there and enjoyed it supremely.

THE WHITE PANDA
DJ Griffi Procast

Ok, here's for a real mashup, by professionals. I always love when the good guys decide to throw together some old school, classic hip hop with some cool beats like Starfucker.
